Saugatuck Senior Receives All-State Honor
By: Kyle Beery

Saugatuck's senior fullback Erick Silva-Carrasco
broke many school records in the season of the
team's first playoff appearance since 1997. His
outstanding performance made him the second
leading rusher in the state in all divisions and earned
him a spot on the Division 7-8 All-State 1st team.

Erick broke the school's single-game rushing record,
with 368 yards, the single-season rushing and total
touchdown record with 26 rushing and 1 receiving
touchdown, single-season rushing yard record with
2043 yards and the all-time career rushing record
with 4014.

The Indians made the second round of the playoffs losing on the road to the Ravenna Bulldogs by 7 points.
The last time Saugatuck made the playoffs was in 1997 when senior back Otis Grice set the school record for
single-season rushing yards. Coincidentally, Silva set the record his senior year and the Indians made the
playoffs.
